Review: Ice and Sky
Ice and Sky is my wife’s favourite game (and she doesn’t like a lot of games) and it’s a really interesting thematic and mechanical game. So how does it play and how much do I like it?
Review: Oceanos
In Oceanos players are captains of a submarine exploring the deep blue sea. You will earn points by discovering coral reefs, collecting rare marine species and salvaging sunken treasures. Upgrades on your sub will facilitate your research. Meanwhile a minacious Kraken looms from the ocean’s depths. Can you escape its curse?

Bruno Faidutti is one of the legends in the boardgame industry. He has designed so many great games and a lot of my personal favourites (Mission: Red Planet and Citadels). If you want to know a little bit more about him then here is your chance.
Review: Vinhos Deluxe Edition
Vinhos is my first Vital Lacerda game. As a eurogamer I had long wanted to try out a game from his hand. But for many reasons I had never gotten around to it. But when I got my hands on the Vinhos Deluxe Edition I couldn’t wait to get it to the table, anxious to find out if this heralded designer was something for me.
Designer Spotlight: Matthew Dunstan
You might not know who Matthew Dunstan is, but soon you will. He designed 2 games I very much enjoy Relic Runners and Elysium, along with several others. He also has several games coming out in 2017, chief among them Professor Evil and the Citadel of Time and Pyramids. But you’re not here to hear me talk about the man. Let’s hear what he has to say.
Review: Avenue
In Avenue players are harvesters, picking grapes and delivering the yield to the neighboring farms. Being provident, prudent and pushing your luck is all needed to bring the game to a fruitful end.
Review: Lorenzo il Magnifico
In Lorenzo il Magnifico you play as the head of a noble family during the Italian renaissance. You spend your turns acquiring territory, buildings and people who will work for you. You will generate various resources and do your best to turn them into points, while trying to keep a good standing with the church.
Review: Eternity
Eternity is a beautiful card game about planting sacred trees to keep the balance between Sky, Earth and Sea. Don’t let its beauty or serene goal deceive you, however, keeping the balance in this trick-taking game is no easy task when others are trying to do the same.

Review: Heir to the Pharaoh
Heir to the Pharaoh is a two player game with many layers. It is a lush production (especially the Kickstarter version). It has great components and great art. Heir to the Pharaoh is a somewhat light abstract-ish game with a really cool and original bidding mechanism.
Top 6 Games of 2016
It’s time to take a look at 2016, more specifically at the Top 6 Games of 2016. It has been yet an other good year for boardgames, and while not as many smash hits hit the shelves this year, a lot of great games did. I wish I had time to play all of them, but that’s impossible (would be very nice though).
Review: Papà Paolo
Papà Paolo is a medium weight, fast-paced eurogame that combines worker placement, bidding, and engine and city building. Players take on the role of Pizzaioli, pizza deliverymen, in the city of Naples. Who will be able to serve the most pizzas to Naples’ hungry citizens? With its recognizable, yet unique theme, many types of gamers will be up for the challenge!
