Review: Sundae Split

I’m a big fan of ice cream in both senses of the word big, in that I really like ice cream and I’m a big guy. So when I saw a game about making Sundae’s I knew I had to play it! In Sundae Split, designed by Nate Bivins and published by Renegade Game Studios and Foxtrot Games, your goal is to make the best sundae, but watch out for those vegetables…yup, you heard me right, vegetables in a sundae.

Review: Sagrada

In the midst of Barcelona, already 5 generations of citizens bore witness to the rising beauty of the Sagrada Familia. The construction of “The Church of the Holy Family” – brainchild of Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi in 1883 – will be completed in 2026.

Review: Concordia

It’s no secret that deck-building is a favorite game mechanic of mine. Especially when it is done in a unique way. Judging by its cover Concordia could easily be passed as just another “trading in the mediterranean” game. It is not. Mac Gerdts, who is well-known for the rondel mechanism, has managed to combine deck-building, and hand and resource management into a unique streamlined game. He even switched from his trademark rondel to a card version of the rondel.

Review: Stockpile

When monopoly was originally released it was created as a critique of capitalism. I don’t know if the creators of Stockpile had similar intentions, but none the less they have created a game that functions as such. It exposes the absurdity and volatility of the stock market while at the same time being a brilliant, fun and engaging game that in my opinion could and should cross over to the mass market.

I’d like to introduce you to a card game called A Game of Thrones: The Card Game (Second Edition). This game is an LCG (Living Card Game) which means that the game expands through expansion packs which increase the card pool size for you to build decks with.
