You might not know who Matthew Dunstan is, but soon you will. He designed 2 games I very much enjoy Relic Runners and Elysium, along with several others. In Lorenzo il Magnifico you play as the head of a noble family during the Italian renaissance. You spend your turns acquiring territory, buildings and people who will work for you. You will generate various resources and do your best to turn them into points, while trying to keep a good standing with the church.
It’s time to take a look at 2016, more specifically at the Top 6 Games of 2016. It has been yet an other good year for boardgames, and while not as many smash hits hit the shelves this year, a lot of great games did. I wish I had time to play all of them, but that’s impossible (would be very nice though).
Adrenaline is not the first game to try to emulate a first-person shooter game in boardgame form. It is however the first to do it without dice and with euro-style elements. It sounds like a very weird cocktail right? But sometimes mixing lots of different things together can be a good thing.
